Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is an Internationally Renowned Economist and a Prominent Leader. She has 30 years of significant geopolitical, economic, risk and development experience and expertise at a governmental and intergovernmental level. She was the First Female Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs respectfully in Nigeria. She served two terms as Finance Minister of Nigeria (, ) and also served as the Managing Director of the World Bank ( ). During her tenure as Finance Minister, she headed Nigeria’s successful program to obtain a debt relief from the Paris Club. She is credited with developing reforms that helped improve governmental transparency to stabilise and grow the Nigerian economy. In , Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was a candidate for president of the World Bank. She however lost to the nominee of the United States and Dartmouth College President, Jim Yong Kim.
