Born Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk on the 31 of October is a Nigerian artist, song writer and performer. He was born to a father who was a forester and mother who was a headmistress. He was born with 3 siblings and unfortunately he lost both his parents and his elder brother in the year Iyanya started out singing at his church choir which was headed by his grandfather at the tender age of 5. He grew up wanting to be an engineer and ended up as a successful musician.
After obtaining a degree in Business management from the University of Calabar he took a job at a hotel where he sang karaoke. His rise to fame only begun when he emerged as the winner of the MTN Project Fame singing competition.
Best known for: Its Iyanya!! His love for the Etighi dance, he made the traditional Efik dance mainstream and rampant throughout clubs in Nigeria

Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk (popularly known by his first name Iyanya) is Nigerian pop artist. He was born in Calabar, Nigeria on 31 October He started as a singer in the children's choir in his local church, becoming the choir master.
In , he lost both his parents. In the same year he won singing talent show MTN Project Fame and recorded his debut album, ahead of later renowned singers Praiz and Omawumi. 'My Story', his debut album, was not the breakout album he perhaps expected.
His breakthrough came after the release of 'Kukere', which became an International megahit. It was so popular it was featured on the UK programme Britain's Got Talent, as danced to by a contestants.
'Kukere' was released along with several other songs on Iyanya's sophomore album, 'Desire' in The album also had the popular 'Ur Waist' and 'Flavour'. After that album, Iyanya and erstwhile producer D'Tunes parted. His third album 'Applaudise' was released in

Iyanya, the Kukere master was christened Iyanya Onyom Mbuk. He was born on the 31st of October, at Palm Street area of Calabar in Cross River State to a head mistress mother and a forestry cultivation father.
He like most artists started his romance with music at an early age. Iyanya started off early in church choir at the tender age of 5 years and since then has never look back on music.
All his educational pursuits took place in Calabar. He studied for his primary and secondary education there and then went on to graduate from the University of Calabar with a B.A in Business Administration. After graduation, he moved on to pursuing his music career full time.
Everyone at one time or the other has experienced some hard and difficult moments, and he was no exception as he lost both parents, and also an elder brother in a row. These were some of the most challenging times for him as he still had to pull himself together and focus on his career.
