The Journey Begins
While I was on a training assignment related to micro-finance in Bahawalpur, a thought came across my mind: Why not visit the mausoleums of our ancient Pirs, and try to explore the current on ground situation of the mausoleums? After all, the devotional literature of the Pirs resonates in our places of worship on a regular basis, and we are grateful to them for their dedication and devotion to spread the message of faith as well as show us the right path.
Hence, we requested our host organization to arrange for a trip to Uch Sharif, a town which is around 90 minutes drive from Bahawalpur, a city located in Southern Punjab, Pakistan.

On Saturday, May 28, , we reached Uch Sharif which is famous for various tombs and shrines, a number of which are considered as masterpieces of Islamic architecture and are on the UNESCO World Heritage Site tentative list. Among the famous shrines at Uch Sharif are those of Bibi Jevandi, Baba Abdul Qadir Saani and Mak
Pir Sadr al-Din is credited with building the first Nizari jamaat-khana in Kotri, Sind, and subsequently in Punjab and Kashmir and appointed their mukhis or leaders.
The term is derived from the Sanskrit word mukhya meaning most important or chief.
The specific form of Nizari Ismailism that evolved in the subcontinent came to be referred to by the translation of the Qur’anic term sirat al-mustaqim, rendered as Satpanth or true path.
Pir Sadr al-Din referred to the convertees as Khoja derived from the Persian word khwaja meaning lord or master.
The Nizari Ismaili state of Alamut was established in in Persia (now Iran) and fell to the Mongols in After the fall of Alamut, the community was deprived of direct contact with and centralized leadership of the Imams, who remained in hiding for two centuries in order to avoid persecution. Under these circumstances, the various Nizari Ismaili communities developed independently and often in isolation from one another. Many Persian Nizaris migrated to adjacent lands in Afghanistan, Central Asia, and Sind in the Indian subcontinent. In Persia, the community and the Imams guised themselves under the mantle of Sufism tha

SUMMARY OF GIRBHAWALI (NANI)
INTRODUCTION
The granth “GIRBHAWALI” is attributed to “PIR SADARDIN” and it has two versions a small one which is known as “GIRBHAWALI NANI” and an extended one which is known as “GIRBHAWALI MOTI”.”GIRBHAWALI NANI” contains a conversation between “Ishwar and parwati” (two Hindu deities) regarding the topic of creation.
Actually in this ginan the Ishwar is a metaphorical character representing the Imam and Parwati is a figurative character denoting the personality of the pir. There are different languages used in this ginan like (Sanskrit, Prakrit, Hindi etc). This granth has been published in both Khojki and Guajarati language by “MUKHI LALJI DEVRAJ” through “ISMAILI ASSOCIATION (recreation club) INDIA” but it’s translation has never been published by any missionary or by any ismaili tariqah board since the time when it was first written because the languages used in this granth are extremely difficult.
Although there are several commentaries on this granth by different missionaries but none of the Ismaili missionary gave a proper translation. Even “MISSIONARY BHAGHAT KARA RUDA”
