Goldie was born in Lagos State on October 23, , to the late Mrs Olabisi Betty, from the notable Olaiya family in Ijebu, Ogun State, who was a former managing director of a bank, and her father, a native of Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State, who retired as a director of a new generation bank and is now into full-time pastoral work in Lagos.
Goldie attended Green Springs Montessori Primary School before transferring to St. John&#;s College in Palm Grove, Lagos, where she claimed Christian Religious Knowledge was her favorite subject because it required no effort on her part to pass. She knew so many bible verses by the time she was ten years old that it was incredible.
She also attended the University of Sunderland, where she studied Business Management.

Goldie never came out to say she wanted to become the best vocalist; all she aimed for was to become one of the great performer in the music industry. In all my years as a cinematographer, when it comes to filming music videos, she was one of the most creative I have ever worked with.
