Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan confirmed their separation and divorce after weeks of speculation on Monday. The couple also said that Salman Khan was not involved in a patch up between them.
After months of are-they-are-they-not, actor Malaika Arora Khan and husband Arbaaz Khan have confirmed that they have separated. In a joint statement issued to DNA, the star couple maintained that while they have walked their separate ways, there is no truth to the fact that Malaika is seeing anyone or has approached a divorce lawyer.

They have also attacked “people claiming to be friends” who are spreading “malicious information”. Calling the buzz that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Arbaaz’s brother, has interceded with Malaika on his behalf as rubbish, the couple also maintained that Arbaaz’s family had no problem with Malaika’s lifestyle. The couple also shot down rumours that Malaika is divorcing Arbaaz as he is not stable financially.

Last week, Mumbai Mirror had reported that Malaika had pulled the plug on her marriage with Arbaaz. It was said that a close friend of Malaika had confirmed it to the tabloid that Malaika was living separately and that she was providing for her year-old son Arhaan's education almost single-handedly.
Now, a report in Bollywood Life has revealed the supposed reason behind Malaika and Arbaaz's split. Malaika has apparently always had a problem with Arbaaz's not-so-successful career. The actor-producer, who has 'always been living under the shadow of his superstar brother', seemed to have bothered Malaika no end all these years.

Malaika Arora has finally opened up on her divorce with Arbaaz Khan and how difficult the decision was for her till the last moment. Speaking with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her radio show, Malaika said she weighed all her options before she took the decision.
Speaking on Kareena’s show What Women Want, Malaika said the inclination to blame someone is always there. “It’s never, ever easy, like no other major decision in your life. At the end of the day, someone has to be blamed. You always have to point fingers at someone. I think that’s the general human nature to go about things,” she said.
However, she decided to go through with the divorce as she and Arbaaz were in an unhappy marriage. “We did think about a lot of things and weighed every single pro and con. And then we decided, it’s better off that we move our separate ways because we’d just be better people. Because we were two people in a situation making each other extremely unhappy which was impacting everybody else’s life around us,” she said.
