Os primeiros anos de Anne
Anne Frank nasceu a 12 de junho de na cidade alemã de Frankfurt. Tem uma irmã, Margot, de cerca de três anos mais velha. A situação na Alemanha não era a melhor: havia poucos empregos e muita pobreza. E é nesse cenário que Adolf Hitler e o seu partido recebem o apoio de um número crescente de adeptos. Hitler odiava os judeus, culpando-os pelos problemas do país, e deu voz aos sentimentos anti-semitas que prevaleciam na Alemanha. Por causa desse ódio aos judeus e da má situação do país, os pais de Anne, Otto e Edith Frank, decidem mudar-se para Amesterdão. Aí, Otto fundou uma empresa que comercializava pectina, um agente gelificante para a preparação de geleias.
A Alemanha nazi invade a Holanda
Anne sente-se, desde logo, em casa na Holanda. Aprendeu a língua, fez novos amigos e andou numa escola holandesa no bairro. O seu pai trabalhou arduamente para fazer prosperar o negócio, mas não foi fácil. Otto tentou também montar um negócio em Inglaterra, no entanto não teve sucesso. Acabaria por encontrar uma solução ao vender ervas e especiarias, além da pectina.

Anne’s first years
Anne Frank was born in the German city of Frankfurt am Main in Anne’s sister Margot was three years her senior. Unemployment was high and poverty was severe in Germany, and it was the period in which Adolf Hitler and his party were gaining more and more supporters. Hitler hated the Jews and blamed them for the problems in the country. He took advantage of the rampant antisemitic sentiments in Germany. The hatred of Jews and the poor economic situation made Anne's parents, Otto and Edith Frank, decide to move to Amsterdam. There, Otto founded a company that traded in pectin, a gelling agent for making jam.
Nazi Germany invades the Netherlands
Before long, Anne felt right at home in the Netherlands. She learned the language, made new friends and went to a Dutch school near her home. Her father worked hard to get his business off the ground, but it was not easy. Otto also tried to set up a company in England, but the plan fell through. Things looked up when he started selling herbs and spices in addition to the pectin.

Until around age eleven, Anne grew up without a care in a relatively safer Amsterdam. In , however, the Netherlands was occupied by Germany, and the protection that Holland was able to provide to its Jewish citizens came to an end.
Beginning in , the first Jews in Holland received call-up notices to report for the so-called “work” camp Westerbork. The majority of Jews obeyed the call-up to report for the “work” camps as fleeing was almost impossible, and refusal to obey could lead to death or shipment to prison camps.

Biography of Anne Frank
Anne Frank, a Jewish girl and victim of Nazi terror in the Netherlands, is one of the most famous and discussed victims of the Holocaust. Her personal writings, made during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, became known as "Anne Frank's Diary." The young girl herself referred to her diary as "Het Achterhuis" or "The Secret Annex." Published as a book, Frank's writings became a bestseller and formed the basis for several plays and films.
Early Life
Annelies Marie "Anne" Frank was born in Frankfurt, Weimar Germany, into an assimilated Jewish family. She spent most of her life in Amsterdam and its surroundings. Her father, Otto Frank, had a passion for science and owned an extensive library. Her mother, Edith Frank, was more religious than her husband, but both of Anne's parents, being liberal Jews, did not strictly adhere to all Jewish customs and traditions.
The Frank family moved to Amsterdam in , as soon as the National Socialists came to power in Germany.
