Sebastian Cabot (Italian and Venetian: Sebastiano CabotoSpanish: Sebastián Caboto, Gaboto or Cabot; c. – c. December ) was a Venetian explorer, likely born in the Venetian Republic and a Venetian citizen. He was the son of Venetian explorer John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto) and his Venetian wife Mattea.
After his father's death, Cabot conducted his own voyages of discovery, seeking the Northwest Passage through North America for England. He later sailed for Spain, traveling to South America, where he explored the Rio de la Plata and established two new forts.

Accounts differ as to Sebastian Cabot's place and date of birth. The historian James Williamson reviewed the evidence for various given dates in the s and concluded that Sebastian was born not later than , the son of John Cabot, a Venetian citizen credited with Genoese

In the 19th cent., scholars, finding discrepancies in the Sebastian stories, branded him an impostor and applied his accounts to the voyage of John Cabot. However, recent research indicates that the Sebastian narratives relate to a later voyage () made in search of the Northwest Passage. He may have reached Hudson Bay. In he entered Spanish service and in became chief pilot. After the return of Magellan's ship he sailed () from Sanlúcar de Barrameda with the ostensible purpose of loading spices in the Moluccas. Instead he explored the Río de la Plata country, spending several years along the Paraguay, Plata, and Paraná rivers, but the hostility of the Native Americans and the scarcity of food forced him to leave the country. He returned to Spain in , a distrusted and discredited man. In he reentered English service, and in he became governor of a joint-stock company (later the Muscovy Company) organized to seek a Northeast Passage and open trade with China
